St Louis Muscovy Duck Prevention

Missouri ducks, are very beautiful creatures. They play a big part in giving nature its sparkle wherever they are. They also seem quite funny, led by their cartoon counterparts which give joy to all with their cute accents and funny characters. These however, are only the few bright side constituents of the birds. The other darker side of them is quite hideous. These criters can be quite dangerous to humans living close to them since they carry with them disease causing micro-organisms. The deseases are really dangerous to anybody that gets them and most are potentially fatal.

One such duck is the St Louis muscovy dark, which initially only survived in tropical conditions but is now spreading to all types of climates all over the world. This however is causing a lot of concern in many a biologist, since the ducks pose a possibly fatal danger to those species out there that will be exposed to the pathogens carried by the ducks for the first time, since their bodies might not have developed the necessary mechanisms to fight them since they are new to them. For these and many other reasons, it is therefore critical and necessary that you make sure these ducks are nowhere close to you and your people. There are different methods out there that could be employed in preventing these birds from infesting your home or your home area. They include:
1. getting rid of what attracts them in the first place to your yard or home- this includes drying stagnant water which is a major attraction to the Missouri muscovy ducks and eliminating bushes and potential food sources for the ducks, like places where seeds are available.
2. chemical repellents- these include both home-made and commercial repellents. There are many such compounds out there in the market. The only major disadvantage of these is that they are not permanent and are easily swept away by rain and wind.
3. fencing and netting- this is best when done on vegetations or gardens. This will also help keep other pests from your property too.
4. trapping- best done on a small scale. After trapping, the Missouri bird should be relocated and not killed, since this is inhumane, inefficient and probably illegal.
